Tim Urban lucked out this year on American Idol. Cut during ‘Hollywood Week’, Urban got a second chance when he was called back after another contestant was disqualified. He made his way into the Top 10, earning himself a lucrative gig on the Idol Summer Tour.
Urban makes me laugh. No matter how much the judges ripped him apart, and they did quite often, he always kept a smile on his face. His smile seemed to give the impression that he really didn’t care too much about the competition, and he came off as arrogant.
Tim feels he is very misunderstood and he simply just likes to smile. He really found it hard to believe that people made such a big deal over his constant happiness. He was worried when he heard rumors that he was the contestant that came off smug, and assured me that was never the case.
The Texas singer, who finished in 7th place on April 21, 2010, was extremely nice and I felt bad by the end of the interview that he was labeled the way he was this season. He hopes to continue his music, branch out into acting, and would love to be on an episode of the FOX hit Glee.
