Elisabeth Hasselbeck gave a tearful apology today on The View for derogatory comments she made about Erin Andrews during Tuesday’s show.
During a discussion of Monday night’s Dancing With the Stars, Hasselbeck took exception to the skimpy outfits that are being worn by several of the dancers. She singled out Erin Andrews and said, “As inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room, I mean, in some way if I’m him, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this — a little bit less — without the prison time!'”
Andrews called Elisabeth’s comments “a slap in the face to victims of stalking and sexual predators.” Michael David Barrett was sentenced to prison in March after removing the peephole from her hotel room door and videotaped the ESPN reporter while she was not wearing clothes.
On The View this morning, Hasselbeck broke down while talking about the incident, and seemed genuinely contrite. She reportedly called Andrews last night to ask for her forgiveness and took it a step future by apologizing publicly today.
