A survey of theater chain executives has named 45-year-old actress Sandra Bullock the top-earning box office star of 2009. Based upon the economic success of “The Proposal” featuring a nude scene, which pulled in $315 million worldwide, and “The Blind Side”, which has made $200 million domestically, the actress was the top money-making star of the year.

Bullock had one clinker in 2009 with her film “All About Steve” but still managed to come out on top, followed by Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, George Clooney. Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf and Denzel Washington.

To put things into perspective, the total 2009 movie box office results indicate the total draw was $10.5 billion, a record year – according to Box Office Mojo.

The Quigley Publishing Company conducts the survey annually, and describes it as “one of the most reliable indicators of an actor’s box-office draw because the selections are done by people whose livelihood depends on choosing the films that will bring audiences to their theaters.”

Sandra hadn’t been in a feature film since “The Premonition” in 2007. Anyone who thought the actress was past her prime can rethink that notion. After pulling in $549 million, that woman has clearly demonstrated that she’s still got game.
