Don’t get too excited because you still have a while to watch daytime talk show queen Oprah Winfrey. A statement was released yesterday afternoon by Harpo, Inc., Winfrey’s production company, announcing her plan to end her 20+ year reign. It read: “The sun will set on the Oprah show as its 25th season draws to a close on September 9, 2011.”

Do you believe this will be the end for Oprah’s television days? Don’t forget she has the OWN channel on the Oxygen network. They have been pressuring her to use it or lose it – and want to see her bring the show to them.

Winfrey has lent her voice to the upcoming Walt Disney film The Princess and the Frog. The release date for the movie is Nov. 25th in a limited number of theaters and on December 11th worldwide. The budget for the children’s flick was $105 million, and as with most animated features aimed at the younger set, will likely rake in a bundle.

Just a thought — who would you want to see take over Oprah’s prime television time slot? For me it would be Ellen DeGeneres. Our friends at PopEater have already done their homework and have listed the Six Possibilities with pros and cons.
