PGA golfer Phil Mickelson announced on May 20, 2009 that he was suspending his golf schedule indefinitely in order to focus his full attention on his 37-year-old wife Amy Mickelson, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Since that initial statement things have brightened considerably.
On May 31, 2009 Mickelson again spoke about his wife’s condition and said that doctors have determined that they caught her cancer early and her prognosis is excellent. That said, he is back on tour and is focusing on his game – Amy’s orders.

UPDATE August 11, 2010: Phil will attempt to win the 2010 PGA Championship – and revealed he has a serious medical condition.
