Jon Gosselin and his wife, of ten years, Kate Gosselin have been in the middle of a major marital crisis for the past six months. Things began to deteriorate toward the end of season four of Jon & Kate Plus 8. Since that time there have been extra-marital allegations leveled against both Gosselin’s and season five has been anything but the ‘happy family’ scenario that TLC has tried to convey in the past.
Apparently things have finally come to a head. There was a special announcement made during a special one-hour episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on Monday, June 22 at 9:00 p.m. eastern, and as suspected the news was DIVORCE.
Kate Gosselin said, “Over the course of this weekend Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and my children.” We’re not quite sure if…”protect” was intended to indicate that she was concerned for their safety and she wasn’t saying. In fact her follow up comment was, “I do not wish to discuss these reasons at this time, in the hopes that all issues will be resolved amicably.”
