The Tony Awards has been known for extravagant musical performances and last night was no exception. The Radio City Music Hall crowd was dancing in their seats to performances by some of the best.

Dolly Parton, Liza Minnelli, Elton John, the cast of West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Pal Joey, Shrek, 9 to 5: The Musical, Next to Normal, Rock of Ages and Billy Elliot did a spectacular performance of Let the Sun Shine.

The performance didn’t go down completely as expected. Rock of Love star Bret Michaels was injured after running into a piece of scenery, apparently missing his mark while performing with his band Poison. Nothin’ But a Good Time seemed to be ‘just that’ right up until the end.

Bret was knocked to the ground after colliding with the set and it looked as if the singer had broken his nose. What we do know is that he did go to the hospital for x-rays and planned to take in the after parties. Now that’s commitment!

UPDATE: Publicist Joann Mignano reported on Monday, June 8, that Michaels did in fact fracture his nose, and also required three stitches in his lip. As a precaution, he was to undergo a CAT scan today to ensure that he hadn’t done any further damage, in light of the fact that he has had previous neck surgery.

Check out the video of Bret’s fall below.
