Carrie Prejean, the somewhat tarnished Miss California USA and first runner-up to Miss USA 2009, may be sticking with her story that “in my family we believe that marriage is between a man and a woman”, BUT things have just gotten a whole lot more interesting in that regard.

According to openly gay sales rep. Valerie Vetrano from Corona, California, she and Prejean’s mother, Francine Coppola, were involved in a gay relationship that ended just before the Miss California USA competition.

Vetrano doesn’t believe that Coppola’s family knew about their affair but was told by her former lover that her marriage to Prejean’s father ended in 1996 amid gay allegations by each against the other.

If this latest revelation is true, someone could have done Miss Prejean a great service by letting her in on the family secrets. She might well be the reigning Miss USA….even as we speak.
