It was another rough night on Celebrity Apprentice for retired basketball star Dennis Rodman. The groups were each tasked with managing five guestrooms at Loews Regency Hotel. They cleaned toilets and rooms, provided room service, secured dinner reservations as well as theater tickets.
Tionne Watkins was project manager for Team Athena and did a good job of assigning tasks and working behind the scenes, receiving high praise from her group.
Joan Rivers, as concierge, did an excellent job of keeping hotel guests happy. Melissa Rivers and Brande Roderick were assigned housekeeping duties, placed special gifts in guest rooms, provided turn down service and even walked a dog. There were a few snafu’s, when hotel guests complained about being charged exorbitant fees that Rivers hadn’t mentioned up front. Natalie Gulbis and Annie Duke provided primary room service for some very demanding guests.
Brian McKnight and Clint Black manned the concierge desk for Team KOTU. Project manager was Dennis Rodman. Short handed, Jessie James and Herschel Walker provided room service, bellman duties and housekeeping.
Rodman started out well but things deteriorated rapidly as he began to drink. As the day wore on, he jumped into a vehicle and headed off to dinner with two of his hotel guests. When he returned, he had a few words with McKnight and Black and then stormed off, returning in the morning, where he remained slouched in a chair, never reengaging in the task.
Dennis did have one lucid moment on day one when Herschel Walker got confused about a room service order for Acacia Chardonnay, thinking the customer wanted a case of wine. Rodman took the matter into his own hands and delivered the correct order to the guest.
Team Athena took their service one step further by offering a complimentary room service breakfast. They had one glitch when Khloe Kardashian, absent on day one, irritated a hotel guest by arriving 40 minutes early with their meal.
The women won the task, receiving 91 points out of a possible 100. The men scored 86, suffering their 4th loss. It was obvious from the moment the two teams hit the boardroom that if Athena won, Dennis Rodman was going to be history.
Jesse James was fair but honest in his assessment that Rodman has a serious drinking problem and Trump agreed that Rodman had been given several chances to prove himself and had failed. Without any real deliberation, Dennis Rodman was fired.
