Colin Powell, retired U.S. Army General and Secretary of State from 2001-2005 made an announcement today on Meet the Press that has startled some and pleased others. The Republican has endorsed Barack Obama for President.
Citing a 25 year relationship with his friend John McCain, Powell lays out his reasons for throwing his support to a Democrat. One factor appears to be McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his VP pick.
