Sophie Okonedo is an English actress who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the 2004 film Hotel Rawanda. Her current movie, The Secret Life of Bees, is set for release on October 17th. Sophie has been busy with premiere engagements in Washington D.C. and New York City.
The movie, adapted from a novel by Sue Monk Kidd, is set in South Carolina in 1964 and tells the moving tale of Lily Owens, a 14 year old girl who is haunted by the memory of her late mother. The star studded cast includes Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah.
