Dennis Quaid and his wife became the parents of twin children via a surrogate mother on November 8th. The babies, a boy Thomas Boone and a girl Zoe Grace were born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. They reportedly received an overdose of the drug Heperin, a blood thinning agent that is used to flush out IV lines.

The mistaken dose of anti-coagulant was administered to the twins on Sunday evening and caused them to bleed internally. They are in neo-natal intensive care where they have been given Protomine to reverse the effects of the other drug. They are said to be in stable condition.

The hospital has reportedly had thirteen previous cases of heperin overdose.
