Lisa Marie Presley, 40, is the latest celebrity to announce that she is expecting twins. The multiple births will be the first children for Presley’s husband Michael Lockwood. She has two teenage children with ex Danny Keough; Riley, 19, and Benjamin, 15.
An interesting bit of trivia is that Elvis Presley was a twin. His brother Jesse Garon Presley died at birth in 1935. The King of rock and roll died at age 42 in 1977.
Lisa Marie announced her pregnancy in March after the Daily Mail published unflattering photos of the celebrity. The publication asserted that Lisa Marie had an unhealthy appetite. She filed a libel lawsuit and received a public apology. Presley’s mother, Priscilla Presley told ET:
“She wanted it really to be kept a secret for a long time. And I think women should, because they should be able to announce what they’re having and decide when it’s time to make the announcement.”
Lisa Marie acknowledged at the time the news broke that yes she was swollen and lamented the fact that she lives in a city where if you’re not a minus size 0, you are fat.
Presley and her musician husband are expecting their twins this fall. Other celebrities who have had twins recently are Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie and Rebecca Romijn.
