As the world anxiously waited to catch a first glimpse of Prince William and Duchess Kate debuting their Baby Prince of Cambridge on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital, two sets of grandparents showed up to meet the Royal couple’s first born son.

Arriving first were Michael Middleton and his wife, Kate’s parents. When they departed some time later, Carole Middleton briefly spoke to reporters.

The first time grandmother remarked, “He’s absolutely beautiful. They are both doing well. We are absolutely thrilled.”

At 5:25 p.m. London time, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla waved to the crowd as they walked up the hospital steps on their way to meet the newest heir to the throne.

As he was stepping back into his waiting vehicle, William’s father told the crowd of well-wishers that his new grandson was, “Marvelous.”
