We want to extend a Happy 70th Birthday to Rolling Stones lead vocalist and founder Sir Michael Philip “Mick” Jagger. His milestone birthday falls on Friday, July 26.
With five decades under his belt, the English musician has been described as “one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock & roll.”
Jagger is also kind of a big deal for producing an HBO documentary that is up for several prestigious awards. Last week he tweeted, “So pleased that Crossfire Hurricane has been nominated for four #Emmys. Thanks to everyone who worked on it.”
Our lead photo features a current image of Mick and a vintage shot that was captured in 1969. Good genes or good docs?
We’ve added another image showing Keith Richards and Mick on stage earlier this month. Looks like Jagger is holding up while his sidekick is definitely looking his age.
The band is currently traveling the country on the 50 & Counting Tour. Mick, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts have been joined by more than two dozen special guests during the series of summer gigs.
Stepping out on stage to perform with the iconic Stones: Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, John Fogerty, Bonnie Raitt, Keith Urban, Gwen Stefani, The Black Keys, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Florence Walch, Eric Clapton and Mary J. Blige.
Other well known celebrities turning 70 this year: Mick’s band-mate Keith Richards, David Soul and Paul Michael Glaser of ‘Starsky and Hutch’ fame, ‘Laverne & Shirley’ celeb Penny Marshall, Gwyneth Paltrow’s actress mom Blythe Danner, Jessica Lange’s ex-partner Sam Shepard, comedian Chevy Chase, ‘Cagney & Lacey’ star Sharon Gless, model Lauren Hutton, Tuesday Weld and Christopher Walken,
