A week after a failed drug intervention, NBA star Lamar Odom was arrest for DUI by the California Highway Patrol in the San Fernando Valley early Friday morning.

The 33-year-old was jailed in Van Nuys after being picked up for driving under the posted speed limit on the 101 Freeway. According to the arrest report, a CHP cruiser turned on lights and siren after witnessing Odom’s car weaving and traveling at less than 50 miles per hour.

Compounding their suspicions, the impaired driver traveled three exits before responding to red lights behind him.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Lamar failed a field sobriety test and refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol level. It remains unclear if his impairment was caused by drugs or alcohol.

The former Los Angeles Clippers player, now a free agent, was booked at 5:01 a.m. and spent 3-1/2 hours behind bars before being released at 8:33 a.m. this morning.

Odom posted a $15,000 bond and must appear in Van Nuys Municipal Court on Sept. 27 for an arraignment before a judge.

This sudden turn of event will likely not bode well for his already dim chances of getting picked up by an NBA team.

Khloe Kardashian, his wife of two years, has tried to convince her drug addicted spouse to enter a rehab program. She blasted the media earlier this week with this tweet, “Really hard to sit here and listen to people talk sh*t about my family! F-you and shame on you! I’m too protective for this sh*t!”

Developing story…
