New York Fashion Week kicked off in Manhattan Thursday, Sept. 5, with the top designers showcasing their Spring 2014 collections on the runway.
It is one of four major fashion weeks held around the world, along with those in Paris, London, and Milan. The New York event was branded Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in 2009. They each feature two shows per year, with the Fall collections hitting the runway in February.
This season’s event, which runs through Sept. 12, is a celebrity magnet. Kerry Washington, Nina Garcia, Zac Posen and Heidi Klum posed together at a ‘Project Runway’ event.
Alyssa Milano and Bella Thorne were on hand for the Tadashi Shoji Show. Among those attending the Lexus Design Disrupted Fashion Experience were former child star Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, who operate their own successful fashion design empire. They recently launched a new line in Oslo, Norway.
Keeping an eye on all of the activity were E! ‘Fashion Police’ correspondents Joan Rivers and her daughter Melissa Rivers.
Other celebs included the Jonas Brothers, Sarah Jessica Parker and Hilary Swank – who posed with Michael Kors and Anna Wintour. See all of them in our celebrity gallery below:
