Miley Cyrus and her fiance Liam Hemsworth have called off their engagement, signaling the end of a decidedly complicated four-year relationship.

Speculation ran high over the weekend when the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer unfollowed the Australian actor on Twitter. He partied in Las Vegas, appearing at the Showtime PPV’s VIP Pre-Fight Party before the Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alverez bout.

Their split was confirmed Monday by E! News. The website is reporting exclusively that it was Miley’s decision, after she came to grips with what she believed was Liam’s recent “emotional distance” and “less than faithful” behavior with ‘Mad Men’ actress January Jones.

PEOPLE magazine also got confirmation from reps for both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, though neither spokesperson opted to provide an official statement.

They last appeared at the Aug. 8 ‘Paranoia’ premiere in Los Angeles. He skipped her MTV VMA performance and was reportedly “mortified” by her raunchy twerk-a-thon with Robin Thicke.

Cyrus has kicked her career into high gear with the launch of ‘We Can’t Stop’ and ‘Wrecking Ball,’ two hot new singles from her upcoming fourth studio album, set to drop on Oct 4.

The former Disney star has spent every waking moment hyping ‘Bangerz,’ leaving no time to carry on a normal relationship and she seems OK with that — for now.
