Before NBC can fire him

First Rosie O’Donnell, now Jeff Zucker. The NBC chief is the latest to join the ranks of Donald Trump’s roster of enemies after he refused to make a decision to renew or cancel The Apprentice. So what’s The Donald to do?

Quit.

It’s only fitting, of course, that The D Man won’t let someone else tell him he’s fired. So after six seasons of The Apprentice, with each one grabbing worse ratings than the last, Trump is leaving the network. This comes, of course, after Zucker didn’t announce a new season of the show during NBC’s upfronts, deciding instead to see what other networks were offering before deciding whether Donald’s ego was worth another season.

So what’s Donald to do? Rumors are swirling that he’s setting something up with Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Business Channel. Perhaps a it’ll be a Mad Money rip-off, where you can get stock advice in between plugs of Trump Vodka, Trump magazine, and Learning Annex courses.

Trump is supposed to represent higher standards, and, while it was well overdue that someone not be intimidated by O’Donnell’s “take no prisoners, lesbian rantings”, Trump lowered his standards to meet, compete and overrun hers. With that he cheapened his product and that’s what got his show (read: him) canned. BTW, I think O’Donnell’s persona and her “Eat me” Trump- baiting at that award presentation was her Last Hurrah.
