Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt may not actually be married, but they staged their fake nuptials effectively enough to be given a wedding special on MTV.

Speidi will play host as four couples ring in the new year by getting married live on MTV’s Engaged & Underage: The Bridal Bowl. Yes, it’s called that.

The four-hour special will air at 1 p.m. on January 1. MTV News’ Tim Kash and Kim Stoltz, along with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, will host the event.

The couple drew attention for eloping in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on November 20. Because they wed outside the U.S., however, their nuptials were not legal, and on the December 22 season finale of The Hills, the couple went to the courthouse.

Alas, Spencer opted to wait and give Heidi the big wedding she’s always wanted.

These tools are pretty good at posing for staged photos, we’ll give them that.

Yeah, The Hills fans were pretty much pissed about their most recent stunt. But hey, the fake Cabo ceremony at least gave us a great Speidi wedding album.

On the New Year’s Day show, one couple will walk down the aisle each hour, complete with footage of the couples’ lives and commentary from friends and family.

Wow, now that sounds awesome. Nothing like sharing your poignant “I do’s” with a national TV audience… and Spencer Pratt. Where do we sign up?
