Looks like it’s another disastrous day in court for Jenelle Evans and David Eason.
The couple arrived for day five of their custody battle Wednesday afternoon, and things got tense before they even entered the courthouse.
And just like last week, David’s infamous temper got the best of him at an inopportune time.
It’s been almost two weeks since CPS removed Jenelle and David’s kids from their home, and thus far, the couple’s efforts to convince a judge that they’re capable and competent parents have proven woefully inadequate.
In fact, it often seems that the Easons are digging themselves a deeper hole with each new day in court.
Take a look at the latest developments:
A Deteriorating Situation
Including Wednesday’s appearance, the Easons have now gone to court five times in an effort to regain custody of their children.
Bad Times on The Land
Between them, Jenelle and David have five children, three of whom were living with them until May 13, when 2-year-old Ensley, 4-year-old Kaiser, and 11-year-old Maryssa were all removed from the home by CPS.
An Uphill Battle
The Easons have been fighting hard to regain custody of their kids, but thus far, their efforts have been unsuccessful.
Going Downhill
In fact, it sometimes seems they’re making their situation worse with each new hearing.
David Being David
Today, for example, David got into a verbal altercation with a photographer outside the courthouse and threatened to have the man arrested.
Call Us Crazy …
We’re gonna go out on a limb and guess that the photographer — who appears to have been working for TMZ, at least on a freelance basis — has a better understanding of the law in these cases than David.
A Continued Pattern
Amazingly, that’s not the first time that David has created a ruckus in court as his wife continues her vain efforts to prove that she’s able to provide a safe and healthy environment for her children.
A Show of Force
Last week, at the couple’s first hearing, David showed up to the courthouse with a handgun on his dashboard (which can be plainly seen at the 0:19 mark of this video).
The Second Disaster
On Friday, David’s impulsiveness got the better of him yet again, when he reportedly lost his temper during a supervised visit with his daughter, Maryssa.
Smart Move By Maryssa
âÂÂIt was supervised with the Sheriff and social services was in the room and Maryssa ran out hysterical crying into her grandmotherâÂÂs arms,â an insider tells Radar Online.
Bad Time For a Tantrum

âÂÂDavid was yelling: âÂÂWhat did you do to my child? Why wonâÂÂt she talk to me?âÂÂâ the source adds.
An Understandable Reaction
âÂÂMaryssa looked petrified to see her dad,â the tipster claims. âÂÂShe was crying the whole time she was in the room with him.â And it seems David carried his irritation with him into the courtroom …
It’s What He Does Best
âÂÂDavid flipped out in court,â says one witness.
If It Were Anyone Else, We Might Not Believe It
âÂÂHe was sitting in the courtroom and he pulled Jenelle over and was saying very mean things about everything that was going on,â the source claims.
Is He Ever NOT Mad?
âÂÂHe was saying all this stuff. He was just so mad,â the insider adds.
Not the Brightest Bulb
As many have pointed out, throwing a tantrum in front of the judge is just about the worst thing that David could have done, and yet it seems he’s consistently struggled to control his temper in court.
Dead Weight
As we reported earlier, it’s David — not Jenelle — who’s under investigation by CPS, and she would have a much easier time regaining custody if she were to turn him loose.
Standing By Her Man
And yet, it appears Jenelle is refusing to take the most obvious step and will instead continue with the far more difficult task of proving that David is not a danger to her children.
Justice For Nugget
That won’t be easy, as the investigation was prompted by reports that David shot and killed Jenelle’s pet dog, Nugget, while the children were at home.
Dangerous Dave
And in Friday’s hearing, Kaiser’s father, Nathan Griffith, reportedly told the judge that he believes David has been physically abusive toward the 4-year-old.
Insult to Injury
Kaiser is currently living with Nathan and his fiance, and sources say Jenelle has been tormented by social photos of the three of them together.
Nice Try
Jenelle has petitioned the judge in her case to have Kaiser relocated to a different home, as she believes Nathan is unable to provide a safe environment.
The Fight For Kai
Thus far, her pleas have fallen on deaf ears, and for good reason.
The Hurricane Kid
Nathan has been raising concerns about Jenelle placing Kaiser in harm’s way ever since she and David refused to follow evacuation orders during Hurricane Florence in 2018.
They Really Did That
As proof of Kaiser’s safety, Jenelle posted photos of the boy splashing around in the mud and making his way through a darkened house.
A Better Life
âÂÂLittle Kaiser was bearing the brunt of them,â Radar’s source says of the 4-year-old’s life with Jenelle and David. âÂÂNow heâÂÂs so happy with Nathan.âÂÂ
A Complex Situation
While it’s true that Nathan hasn’t always been the ideal father, he’s said to be fully committed to his son’s happiness these days, and he has his fiancee and mother to help him raise the boy.
Nate the Great
It was Nathan who called 911 after learning that David shot Nugget. At the end of this month, he and Jenelle will face off in a separate battle for permanent custody of Kai — and Nate has the clear upper hand
The Ensley Issue
Ensley, meanwhile, has been placed with Jenelle’s mother, who already had custody of her eldest son, Jace.
For the Best
Maryssa has reportedly been placed with her maternal grandmother, who has little to no contact with Jenelle and David.

UPDATE: Jenelle’s Not Footing the Bill For David’s Lawyer
The Ashley’s Reality Roundup is reporting that Jenelle and David have two different lawyers … and his is court appointed.
Jenelle Has the Perfect Lawyer … For Jenelle

The Ashley’s source says Jenelle’s lawyer “irritated” the judge on Wednesday — probably when he accused the judge of prejudice and tried to have him thrown off the case.
Gotta Respect the Hustle
âÂÂHe tried to have the judge recuse himself from the case,â sources tell Radar Online. âÂÂJenelleâÂÂs attorney said that the judge had a prejudice against them because he was biased toward CPS. The attorney said he had evidence that the judge was prejudice against them but after a long break he said he couldnâÂÂt find what he was looking for.”
No Dice

Not surprisingly, Jenelle’s request was denied, which means she’s stuck with the judge she’s got — and it’s looking like the case will take MUCH longer than expected due to all the lawyers, parents, and kids involved.
Plenty of Evidence
The Ashley’s insider says footage from Teen Mom 2 will NOT be shown in court, as had previously been rumored. âÂÂThey arenâÂÂt really bringing the stuff that was shown on [âÂÂTeen Mom 2âÂÂ] into the case,â the tipster says. âÂÂThey donâÂÂt really need to. There is enough to discuss from the CPS investigation.âÂÂ
