Recently, Ashley Martson and Jay Smith shared a throwback of when they were filming for 90 Day Fiance.
With Season 4 of Happily Ever After? looming in the not-so-distant future, Ashley is sharing a very important health update.
As we all know, she has an ongoing battle with lupus and has had two lengthy hospitalizations this year in as many months.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, Ashley opens up about the current state of her health and what she expects in the future.

Ashley Martson has a health update
As fans are very well aware, she has lupus — and has proven it by showing her medical records for the world to see. This chronic autoimmune condition ravages her body and put her in the hospital with kidney failure earlier this year.
She’s still with Jay
Just this week, Ashley shared this cute photo. We love how much it contrasts them as a couple from, say, Molly and Luis, who joked about being a green card marriage long before their bitter divorce.
And they no longer have to keep their romance a secret
Ashley and Jay waited ages to share this particular photo because they were under a veil of producer-mandated secrecy. Ashley broke the confidentiality agreement after their fraud scandal, but they were happy for the chance to share this pic.
And her children are her first priority
Looking at this “I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom” quote from Mean Girls, we’re reminded that the excellent film in question is older than any of Ashley’s children … oh gosh that makes us feel ancient beyond words.
Ashley has been hospitalized twice this year
Neither were brief visits. The first time, she had been found unresponsive.
But Ashley says that things are better now
“My health is improving each day,” Ashley tells In Touch Weekly.
She’s no longer confined to beds and couches
“And,” Ashley shares. “I’m finally able to start living normally again.”
We’re glad that Jay was by her side
After her most recent trip to the hospital, she noted that Jay was waiting on her hand and foot. Ultimately, though, anyone dealing with recovery would rather be able to take care of themselves.
What happened?
Her hospitalization in February lasted for six consecutive days. It involved Ashley undergoing a surgical procedure.
And she doesn’t expect to relapse any time soon
“With this procedure,” Ashley tells In Touch Weekly. “It should keep me out of the hospital for a long time.”
She’s not super specific here
Ashley has every right to privacy, especially where it concerns her health and what surgical procedures she has undergone.

90 Day Fiance stars Jay and Ashley joined the cast for Season 6. Jay is younger and seems to be extremely sexual and cannot seem to resist boasting about his sexual history to TLC’s cameras.

Though her February procedure was probably not captured on camera, there’s more to Ashley and Jay’s story than we’ve seen on 90 Day Fiance or on social media

It was an open secret for ages
Then, in the aftermath of Ashley and Jay’s fake “leaks” scandal, Ashley confirmed that they had filmed for the show — which was why they had been playing coy about their marital status.
They’d dropped major hints, though
Ashley’s face did not appear in the short video that Jay shared to brag on Instagram, but it was abundantly clear to everyone that those are Ashley’s hands and legs.
We of course wish Ashley the best
Being found unresponsive at home in January … we can only imagine what it was like to suddenly go from being in her house to waking up in the hospital. Everyone wished her well and TLC even sent flowers. We hope that she never experiences that nightmare again.
She and Jay will soon be back on television
While official teasers for 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? say that Season 4 will premiere in the spring, we can do better than that three-month window. 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates has revealed that the premiere date is April 28. Real talk: a 90 Day Fiance star probably told him as much in a private message. We’re inclined to believe it.
