If you’re the kind of Teen Mom 2 fan who follows the cast closely on social media, then the harrowing climax of Monday night’s episode probably didn’t come as much of a surprise to you.
Since October, we’ve known about the incident in which Jenelle Evans called 911 alleging that she had been assaulted by David.
But the episode revealed new details about the incident that may shed light on David’s mindset at the time of the alleged attack.
Jenelle has dismissed the fight as a “drunk and dramatic misunderstanding.”
But we think it’s plain to see there’s more going on here than just a booze-fueled confrontation.
Join us as we reexamine that ugly scene, and take a glimpse at what the other moms were up to on this week’s episode:
The Easons
In recent months, Jenelle and David have experienced a number of rough patches in their marriage.
Rock Bottom
But for all the violence and neglect, the lowest point may have come back in October, when a tearful Jenelle called 911 alleging that she’d been brutally assaulted by David.
The Call
The night of the incident, Jenelle told a 911 operator that David attacked her and pinned her down so hard she thought he had broken her collarbone.
The Pieces Come Together
Now, we know that David’s mood soured earlier in the day, when he was not permitted to join his family at a local pumpkin patch, due to the fact that he had been fired from Teen Mom 2.
Scary Stuff
When David called one of the show’s producers to express his dissatisfaction, Jenelle attempted to laugh the situation off.
Yeah…Funny Stuff
âÂÂWe havenâÂÂt been to the pumpkin patch with any of the kids this season, and heâÂÂs mad we went without him,â Jenelle explained. âÂÂHe was thinking, âÂÂIâÂÂm gonna make Kristen sâÂÂt her pants right now.âÂÂâÂÂ
Jenelle’s Hell

That same night, Jenelle was forced to call 911 following an altercation at her home.
A Picture Emerges
The episode doesn’t offer any conclusive evidence that David’s mood was influenced by events from earlier in the day, but we think it’s safe to say he’s not as laid back about being fired as he claims.
Progress For Leah
But while Jenelle’s world fell apart around her, some of the other girls enjoyed some minor victories. Take Leah Messer, for example …
Ali’s Battle
Sadly, Leah’s daughter Ali continues to grapple with some major health issues. Fortunately, help is on the way, as Leah was able to obtain an advocate to help the girl at school.
Finally, Some Good News!
âÂÂHopefully the advocate will also help me make sure the aide is only working with Ali,â Leah told boyfriend Jason Jordan during Monday’s episode.
Never Again
âÂÂThere was one year she wouldnâÂÂt even eat. She didnâÂÂt know if she was going to drop the tray and embarrass herself in front of everyone. I want to make sure she has that undivided attention,” Leah added.
False Alarm
Elsewhere in the TM2 universe, Chelsea Houska headed to the hospital 33 weeks into her pregnancy, fearing that she was soon to give birth prematurely.
Close Call
Fortunately, it turned out to be false labor — but Chelsea could have sworn her water had broken.
Ready to Pop
“Basically, my bodyâÂÂs getting ready to birth, and itâÂÂs just lubinâ up,â she said. âÂÂI swear that chair was probably wet.âÂÂ
Stuck on Chris
Meanwhile, there’s nothing false about Kailyn Lowry’s feelings toward her third baby daddy, Chris Lopez.
A Perfect World
“In a perfect world, I would want to be a family,â Kail said in the run-up to little Lux’s birthday party.
Good Question
âÂÂCan you be addicted to people? I donâÂÂt know. IâÂÂm addicted to the chaos, the feelings of the ups and downs and the chase,” Lowry confessed.
Tough Call
We don’t have an answer to that question, but even though the party went smoothly, we would still encourage Kail to tread lightly.
