Catelynn Lowell sure has been through a lot lately, huh?
This time last year, Catelynn was at a treatment center in Arizona dealing with suicidal thoughts.
Since then, she’s had another rehab stay, her marriage has fallen apart, she’s become Teen Mom OG’s biggest villain.
Oh yeah, and she’s pregnant again.
She’s got to be overwhelmed, but is that an excuse for the name she’s chosen for the new baby?
No.
No, it is not.

So Catelynn … well, things are kind of rough for Catelynn right now.
Well …
“Right now,” “her whole entire life,” whatever.
Bad Times
Like, Catelynn was raised by an emotionally abusive mother with a drinking problem and a habit of bringing awful men into their home … she wasn’t exactly set up for success, you know?
Too Much, Thanks
She started dating Tyler when they were in middle school, then her mom married his dad, then she got pregnant, then they placed the baby for adoption, then their families made them feel like garbage for the adoption …
Makes Sense
She’s said she’s been diagnosed with PTSD, and yeah, that makes plenty of sense.
It’s A Lot
But as bad as things have always been, it seems like they’ve been worse than ever for the past year or so.
So Many Bad Things
Last year, right around this time, Catelynn had a miscarriage, and she really struggled with it — enough that she began contemplating suicide.
Too Sad
She spent six weeks at a treatment center in Arizona, came home for less than a month, then decided to go back to Arizona for another six weeks because she still wasn’t feeling great.
Fair?
Tyler struggled with that second trip — he begged her to at least try getting therapy closer to home, but she refused to do anything except go back to Arizona, even though their daughter, Nova, had a really hard time with her mom being gone for so long.

And then, according to Tyler, she didn’t even seem to take treatment all that seriously, and she even skipped therapy to stay up late and watch movies. He told his mother that he was repulsed by her after hearing about that. Really, that’s what he said.
Yikes
Tyler had started going to therapy after the miscarriage as well, and his therapist suggested that Catelynn watch the episodes from last season when she was gone so she could see how hard a time Tyler had without her, but she refused. For a while, she also refused to attend counseling with him so they could work on their issues.

“When does it ever turn around?” he asked some friends. “When is it ever 50/50?! I’m saying this is what I need, awesome. If you can’t, let me know now. I don’t want to waste any time, let me get out of here. Marriage is a bitch.â€Â
And Also …
Oh yeah, and Catelynn got pregnant at some point during all of this, did we mention that? Tyler said that they were doing everything they could to prevent a pregnancy, but, you know, obviously not.
Too Little, Too Late
So finally she agreed to work on things with him, but only if they went to Arizona — apparently the state has some real healing qualities for her. They went down for a couple’s retreat, but it didn’t work so well, and by the end, he’d told her he wanted a trial separation.
Uh, OK
The idea was for them to live apart for one month because they’ve been together so long, they really don’t know who they are without each other. It makes sense, right?
What a Mess
Cate really wasn’t too thrilled with the idea, but Tyler has very obviously been very over Cate for a very long time, so she went along with it.
All Good?
In real life, the separation already happened, and it seems pretty clear that they’re still together (or at least faking it until everything goes down on the show), but on Teen Mom OG, it hasn’t quite happened yet because they’re waiting on construction to be done on their new house so Tyler can move in there.

In a sneak peek for the new episode, the not-so-happy couple goes to some fancy ultrasound place so they can get a look at their baby, who they already know will be a girl.
REAL Fancy
Tyler, Catelynn, and Catelynn’s mother all go into a room and Tyler goes on for a bit about how fancy it is while Cate gets situated on a bed for the ultrasound.

The tech checks everything out, she shows everybody how everything is going inside Catelynn’s uterus, then she asks if they have a name picked out yet.

“Tezlee,” Tyler answers.

That’s not some noise he just made with his mouth, he didn’t stumble over his answer … they actually want to name the baby Tezlee.

MTV put it in their caption for the video and everything, so we know it’s real and we know that’s how they want to spell it.

Seriously, just let it sink in for a minute. Nova and Tezlee, the Baltierra sisters. It actually kind of hurts, doesn’t it?

And we’re not the only ones who think so.

“TEZLEE BALTIERRA???” one Teen Mom fan tweeted. “Jesus Christ, make the child know they weren’t wanted why don’t you.”
Not a Lie
Someone else said “I think that raises to the level of abuse. Let’s set our child up for a lifetime of teasing and bullying.”
Solid Point
“Tezlee has to be the worst name in the TM franchise. Something something can’t take the trailer park out of the girl,” another person wrote.
What a Time to Be Alive
Is it really the worst name in Teen Mom history? Kind of, yeah. The only question now is whether or not they’ll come to their senses before little Tezlee actually enters this world in March.
