Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson was stabbed in the head during a knife fight with his brother in Iowa, according to multiple reports from the Hawkeye State.

The 41-year-old Thomson allegedly got into a violent altercation on Wednesday with his sibling at a home in Clive, police told CNN affiliate KCCI.

The fight started inside the house and spilled onto the front yard, prompting a neighbor to call authorities, and it’s a good thing that call was placed.

Both men were taken to hospital in separate ambulances, reports indicate.

KCCI states that the hard rock musician was wounded in the back of his head, but did not specify the injuries his brother, Andrew Thomson, suffered.

The band’s frontman, Corey Taylor, tweeted that the guitarist is doing well.

Slipknot released a new album, The Gray Chapter, in October, and the group scheduled to start its U.S. tour in April before heading to Europe in June.

It’s not clear how, if at all, the Mick Thomson stabbing will impact that.
