Wednesday on Criminal Minds Season 10 Episode 10, the BAU members flew out to Salt Lake City to investigate a triple homicide with ties to a fugitive.
Criminal Minds Season 10 Episode 10 began with the team realizing right off the bat that the killer is a released convict by the name of Benton Farland.
Locked up at 17 for the rape and murder of his sister, law enforcement believes his 30 year old lover, Amelia Porter, put him up to that original offense.
Porter fled to Canada afterward, while the young and vulnerable Farland was subsequently sentenced to 12 years in prison. Now he’s been out two days.
Benton shows up at his father’s home, only to discover that his deceased sister’s two children, Andy and Rebecca, were now under the care of his father.
His dad, Oren, is not pleased to find his son there. After an argument, Benton kills his father with a knife, absconding with Andy and Rebecca as "insurance."
While in the car, abducted Andy calmly warns his sister to buckle her seat belt. He then causes the car to swerve off the road, knocking Benton out cold.
Sadly, his plan goes awry as Benton comes to and shoots Andy, leaving him for dead. Benton then kills a passerby who stopped to check on them.
He takes off in the Samaritan’s car with Rebecca as the BAU and police arrive and get help for Andy, who it looks like is going to survive the shooting.
At the hospital, Andy tells them that he thinks Benton is heading to Andy’s friend’s vacation cabin. Soon enough, we see him lead Rebecca to a remote home.
