Last week, The Bachelorette‘s teaser trailer promised fun, wild dates, and friendship.

The new season premieres on July 11, when we will watch Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey search for love.

Not everyone is excited about Season 19’s double-lead gimmick.

The Bachelorette alum Andi Dorfman admits that she is “bummed” about Rachel and Gabby’s season.

Will lightning strike twice for Andi Dorfman? We just don’t know.

This week, Entertainment Tonight published an interview with Andi Dorfman.

Andi was the lead on Season 10.

She has thoughts to share about the Season 19 format.

“I want to be supportive,” Andi quickly admitted.

She feels this way “because it’s a franchise that literally put me here right now.”

“But,” Andy acknowledged, “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t bummed that it’s two women.”

“I’d like to see two men go at it,” Andi expressed.

(We chuckled at that, too, but she means that she would like to see two co-Bachelors as leads)

“I don’t know,” Andi continued. “It gives me a little sexist vibe there that I don’t really love.”

Rachel Recchia makes her presence very well known on The Bachelor Season 26. Here she is, meeting Clayton Echard.

Andi is not entirely convinced of “the fact that two women have to share the screen.”

It is, she reasoned, 2022. Things should be better.

Andi then opined: “I think we’ve progressed a little further.”

Thumbs up, Andi Dorfman! The former Bachelor suitor looks very happy in this photo.

Having starred on the series years ago, Andi knows better than most “what it takes” behind the scenes.

Based upon her own experiences, she would like to see things play out differently for Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.

As things stand, it sounds like Andi feels that they are being cheated.

“I want each girl to have it for themselves,” Andi expressed.

“It is such an incredible thing,” she then gushed about the experience of being the leading lady.

“It’s not to say it can’t be shared,” Andi continued, “but again, I don’t know.”

Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey are excited to be the Bachelorettes. Together! On the same season!

If you think that this means that Andy intends to boycott the season (that’s not what boycott means, but whatever), think again.

She then confirmed that she plans to watch Season 19 “out of support for the girls.”

We are sure that both Gabby and Rachel appreciate the encouragement.

Andi is in Gabby and Rachel’s corner, make no mistake.

It’s just that she wishes that the two had separate corners, so to speak.

Either way, Andi will be tuning in on July 11 along with the rest of us.

Now that Andi mentions it, does anyone else have a The Bachelor co-leads dream team, past or present?

Frankly, even if Andi did not fully articulate why it feels sexist to her, we’re inclined to trust her experience on this.

Two bros vying for love side-by-side could forge an amazing season together. Make it happen, ABC!
