It’s no secret that Pamela Anderson has had her share of relationship troubles. But last month, things seemed to take a turn for the better.
On January 20, she married boyfriend Jon Peters. Now, however, Pamela has revealed that they have separated.
Decades ago, Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters dated.
While Pamela needs no introduction, Jon is a film producer with a long list of major movies under his belt, including both A Star Is Born films.
The two reunited recently. They held a surprise wedding on January 20 in Malibu.
Just six days ago, Pamela shared a photo with the unfortunate caption of: "#Honeymoon. You never regret saying yes."
Why do we say that the caption was unfortunate?
Because, just twelve days after their nuptials, Pamela and Jon have split.
Pamela is 52 years old. Jon Peters is 74. Some may be surprised at the news that they made two major impulsive decisions in a single fortnight.
But the split was confirmed by none other than Pamela herself.
"I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union," she said in the statement to Entertainment Tonight.
Pamela expressed: "We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart."
They want this time apart "to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another."
So it’s not clear how permanent this split will be — because they themselves don’t know.
"Life is a journey and love is a process," she acknowledged.
"With that universal truth in mind," Pamela said, "we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate."
She says that they have resolved to "put our faith in the process."
"Thank you for respecting our privacy," Pamela’s statement concluded.
"Pamela asked for a break," an insider dishes about the split, "and Jon understands."
"It all happened so fast," the source acknowledges.
According to the insider, from Pamela’s perspective: "She needs some time."
That is extremely reasonable.
If the marriage is truly over, then ending it could be almost unimaginably simple.
Not only is 12 days not really enough time to (normally) accumulate any shared property, but a little procrastination may make their lives easier.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Pamela and Jon had not yet gotten around to filing the legal paperwork for their marriage.
In other words, however they feel about their wedding ceremony, it’s not yet a legally recognized marriage in the eyes of the law.
As we acknowledged, Pamela hasn’t always had the best luck when it comes to relationships.
Her marriage to Tommy Lee was toxic at best, though it did at least give her her two absurdly handsome sons.
Pamela’s marriage to Jon, such as it is, makes this her fifth marriage. That is something that the two of them have in common.
Jon Peters has also been married five times — as of January 20. Years ago, he dated Barbra Streisand.
We are certainly interested to know whether Pamela decides to go through with this marriage or to pace herself.
