Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just made our week.
In honor of Prince Charles turning 71 years old today, the polarizing Royal Couple took to their official Instagram account to both send Harry's dad a few birthday wishes...
... and to present followers with a gift of their own:
A new photo of son Archie!
“Happy birthday to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales – Sir, Pa, Grandpa!” Markle and Harry wrote online, adding a cake emoji.
The picture included along with this message (above) was snapped by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding photographer, Chris Allerton.
In the never-before-seen snapshot, we get a fresh look at young Archie's christening back in July, as grandfather and regular father look adoringly at the newest member of the royal family.
The exciting release comes at an interesting time for Meghan and Harry.
The famous wife and husband seem more detatched from their famous relatives than ever before, as Kensington Palace announced just yesterday that Markle and her Prince will NOT spend Christmas with the Queen this year.
That's a pretty big and a rather unusual deal.
"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month," a spokesperson said on Wednesday, adding:
"Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess' mother Doria Ragland."
It's unknown at this time exactly where they'll be hanging out for the holidays with Markle's mother.
All we can say for now is that it will not be in Los Angeles, sources have confirmed.
As you might expect, the royal family is playing it cool, as the aforementioned spokesperson concluded his statement about the holiday season as follows:
"This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen."
We've gotta imagine the Queen is either fuming... or that she was the one who didn't want to spend Christmas with Markle, who she may or may not detest.
This decision follows earlier reports that Meghan and Harry were planning to bring their son to America for the first time for a family break.
Heck, there's even a report that claims Markle and Harry may move to America. Can you imagine?!?
Prince William and Kate Middleton, meanwhile, also paid tribute to Prince Charles this week on social media with a photo of Prince Louis being doted on by his granddad.
“Wishing a very happy birthday to The Prince of Wales!” they wrote.
