The news that O.J. Simpson has joined Twitter was met with a mix of disgust and resigned apathy.

After all, this development took place in 2019, a time in which it’s almost impossible to imagine an event that could universally shock social media users.

Combine that with the fact that Simpson has enjoyed a baffling resurgence in popularity in the past few years, and his emergence on President Trump’s favorite platform seemed like an inevitability.

And what would O.J. bring to the world of 280 character hot takes?

Well, in a video announcement, @RealOJ32 (most of the variations on Simpson’s name had already been claimed by parody accounts), stated that he would mostly be offering sports-related content.

A widespread joke was that it wouldn’t be long before the disgraced NFL running back was issuing death threats to online haters.

But again, we live in the slightly pre-apocalyptic hellscape known as 2019, so it should come as no surprise that such a seemingly absurd gag premise quickly became a reality.

In O.J.’s first post, he ominously stated that he would like to use his account to “get even” with critics.

The comment was lampooned all over the internet, but according to Radar Online, one user was reminded in terrifying fashion that Simpson was not joking.

The site claims that a parody account which goes by the name of @KillerOJSimpson posted a video response to O.J.’s tweet.

The clip has since been deleted, but the response from Simpson still speaks volumes about his mental state.

“Think I’m playing motherf–ker…” Simpson allegedly replied.

“Sadly, nope,” @KillerOJSimpson shot back

“Seen that video just posted about me. You think I’m playing? Tired of all your bulls–t,” Simpson wrote, according to Radar.

And that’s when things really got ugly:

“I WILL FIND YOUR ASS AND CUT YOU. Don’t believe me? Just watch and see bitch,” Simpson allegedly tweeted.

Again, these tweets have been deleted and have not been viewed by The Hollywood Gossip.

But not only has Radar reported on their existence, legal expert Nancy Grace has commented on the alleged threats from Simpson:

“To me, it just reinforces the fact that he’s a double killer. That’s just who he is,” Grace said in an interview with Radar.

“But what does he do instead of thanking God for being free again? He’s basically sending out threatening tweets,” Grace continued.

“It never ends with him. It never will.”

We’re not thrilled with the prospect of siding with Nancy Grace, who — were it not for the existence of Tucker Carlson — would be a strong contender for the worst person to ever appear on television.

But it’s tough to argue with her on that point.

Indeed, it often seems that when it comes to O.J. Simpson, the insanity will simply never end.
