A former Pretty Little Liar has some pretty amazing news to share:
SHAY MITCHELL IS PREGNANT!!!!
The actress made the announcement herself via a YouTube video and an Instagram photo whose caption read as follows:
Does this mean I’m allowed to drive in the car pool lane at all times now?
The Instagram picture referenced above featured Mitchell and a very clear baby bump... considering she wasn't wearing a shirt in the image.
We've shared it below.
The pregnancy for Mitchell is especially unexpected and incredible because she suffered a miscarriage just five months ago.
“Although it was an amazing year it didn’t come without hardships,” the star wrote at the time, sharing a sonogram of a baby and a broken heart emoji in a hearbreaking post.
In her video on Friday, titled “Guess Who’s Preggers," however, Mitchell struck a very different chord.
She talked about the emotions surrounding her pregnancy, even taking fans into the exam room to show off her new ultrasound and more.
“There is something in the oven and it’s not my pizza!!! WOW … It’s kind of surreal processing the fact that another human is growing inside of you,” she wrote underneath the two-minute clip.
Added the actress:
“It’s exciting, nerve-racking, difficult and emotional all at the same time.
"Everyone waits for the right time to make the announcement and for me it wasn’t until I couldn’t hide it anymore and was tired of wearing over sized sweatshirts.”
Mitchell is best known for having played Emily throughout the duration of Pretty Little Liars and also played a key role on Season 1 of You.
Speaking for herself and boyfriend Matte Babel, she continued in this video:
“We’re beyond excited and looking forward to starting a family.
"I’ve learned so much about myself and parenthood over the past 6 months, and feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface! It’s going to be a wild ride!!”
Babel is a host and music reporter.
He was first linked romantically to Mitchell in October of 2018.
We are so very happy for this couple, as it was just the end of last year when Mitchell was opening up about the truama of her miscarriage.
"The support and affection that so many of you show me lifts me up during even my darkest days, one of which happened last year after I miscarried and lost the child of my hopes and dreams," she wrote back then.
"In the spirit of the new year, I think that we need to remember that we are all on this journey together - in good times and in bad - and to remind ourselves that we seldom really know or understand the struggles and hardships that other people are going through.
"So, for 2019, let’s all try to be a little more compassionate, empathetic, patient and thoughtful with each other. Happy New Year everyone!"
Congratulations to the expecting parents!
