The saga of Gregg Leakes' cancer battle has, at times, seemed to be all about NeNe. At least, that's what her detractors say.
Now, the couple have some truly wonderful news -- his latest screening shows that Gregg is cancer-free!
But when NeNe made the announcement, she couldn't resist taking a stab at her critics ... by joking about domestic abuse. Yikes.
Gregg Leakes got the results of his latest PET scan, and it's wonderful news.
"Won’t He do it ......" Gregg Leakes' cheerful announcement begins.
His Instagram caption continues: "Thank you Jesus & Praise God ......"
"Thank you ALL for your Prayers for me," he expresses. "And please continue to Pray during my journey.."
"I thank my wife @neneleakes for being there for me," Gregg concludes. "Sometimes it wasn’t easy.."
Gregg shared this joyous image, and so did his wife, NeNe.
NeNe wrote her own caption, beginning with "Look at God!"
"We are over joyed to say, we saw the doctors for the results of Gregg’s Pet Scan he took last week!" NeNe announces.
"Test show, wait for It.....WE ARE CANCER FREE!!!" she exclaims. "Yes God!"
This is extremely welcome, wonderful news.
NeNe being NeNe, she cannot seem to resist poking fun at her more vocal haters, but she did it in a very odd way.
"Now i can go give Gregg a black eye," NeNe jokes in poor taste. "Since so many thinks he's abused."
Folks, domestic violence -- any sort of abuse -- is just never funny.
NeNe then told her followers exactly what she thinks of them in her tags.
"#f--kcancer #f--kopinions #cancersurvivor #pushthrucaretakers #lifeoftheleakes," she writes.
In a previous post, Gregg posted an update about undergoing the screening.
"Almost time to shout Victory...." Gregg wrote on Instagram. "God is a Healer & I Believe.."
And after this happy announcement, he has already made another post.
"Thank you to my Children, My Family, and ALL of who supported me..." Gregg writes.
Cancer is a horrible illness. We are so grateful that Gregg has received this wonderful news from the doctor.
In June of 2018, NeNe revealed to the world that Gregg had been diagnosed with cancer.
The actual diagnosis had come on May 5 of that year.
Months later, in November, the world had learned that he was battling Stage 3 colon cancer.
All cancer is serious, but colon cancer is notoriously deadly and difficult to combat.
Just last month, Gregg reached a milestone of 6 months of chemotherapy.
Family, friends, and fans alike are grateful that Gregg has pulled through so triumphantly.
NeNe has used her platform to act as a voice for others who are caregivers for cancer patients.
Stress, the pain of the disease itself, and especially the treatments can make cancer patients emotionally volatile.
They may even lash out verbally at their caregivers -- which was NeNe's experience.
She accused Gregg of saying "evil" things to her, and she also gave advice to fans on how to cope with that kind of treatment from a loved one.
For his part, Gregg acknowledged that he had made her task difficult.
We wish the Leakes family the best, and hope that every future screening has good results.
