Never play "Truth or Dare" if there are reality TV cameras in sight.
Wednesday's episode of The Real Housewives of New York was filled with drama, and it was all thanks to that game that millennials probably still play.
Tinsley Mortimer wound up in tears by the end, and it was all thanks to Bethenny Frankel daring her to call her boyfriend Scott and cause some drama.
"I dare you to call Scott and tell him he's the love of your life and that if you're not engaged by the end of the year, you're dating other people," Bethenny said to a confused Tinsley.
Tinsley wanted to leave the game behind because she felt like the dynamic changed the moment Scott's name was brought up.
"My dare was to call your boyfriend," Bethenny said, getting frustrated by the way Tinsley was acting toward her.
Tinsley didn't know what the game was about. Either that, or she was happy to laugh at others, but not herself.
"I'm not doing that because he'd be mad at me for doing that. Stop, you guys. I'm not doing it!" Tinsley shouted as she got up to leave the room for a cigarette.
These ladies were really taking it out of her, so Luann de Lesseps followed.
"He would kill me. Do you understand? He'd kill me!" Tinsley complained to a shocked Luann.
"I know my boyfriend," Tinsley said in a confessional, adding:
"And I know that making this call to him -- all of a sudden there are gonna be giggles and laughter in the background, and he will be really upset. He does not like to be embarrassed, and I don't wanna do that to him."
Tinsley was asked when she returned to the table about her feelings, and she wanted to move on from it.
"We don't have to talk about it," Tinsley complained.
"But then why are we all friends if we don't talk about it?" Bethenny asked as though she was Andy Cohen fishing for answers at the reunion.
"I don't get it."
"She doesn't wanna be friends. Maybe that's what it is," Barbara Kavovit said, and that was enough for Dorinda Medley to step in.
"No, Barbara. Don't say that! Don't be an instigator!" Dorinda shouted.
"You're always instigating! She didn't say she didn't wanna be friends. You always have to go there," she continued.
"Stop being a busybody. Stop being an interloper. Stop doing it!"
Dorinda wanted Barbara to stay out of the argument, but Barbara was not about that.
"Make me!" Barbara shrieked.
While that argument was playing out, Bethenny took it upon herself to apologize to Tinsley.
"I don't want to call my boyfriend in front of everybody," Tinsley replied.
"Don't bring him in in that way. That's all. That's all I'm saying. I'm not calling him because I'm not putting him on blast with girlfriends."
"I get it!" Bethenny fired back. "But we have to know where the line is. You don't tell us anything!"
Tinsley was upset at Bethenny inserting herself into the drama, and said she had the same conversation with Scott every day, and that it was "torture."
"Tinsley, you can't just be happy when it's his terms. It doesn't work that way," Bethenny tried to explain.
"It does in his life," Tinsley said to a shocked Bethenny. Tinsley was in tears, and Bethenny tried to help her out.
"You just don't seem that happy," Bethenny told her frenemy. "And it seems like your relationship is in a box."
"He's a very different person from everybody I've ever dated," Tinsley countered.
"But is he also controlling?" Bethenny wondered.
"Yeah, he has controlling ways about him. Yes," Tinsley replied. "It's a f--king juggling act, and every day is a new f--king headache, but I love this guy, okay? I don't know what else to say."
"If you were my best girl friend, I'd say, 'We have to pull you out of this,'" Bethenny replied.
"I am not this bra-burning feminist, but Tinsley sets women back 100 years," she subsequently told the cameras in a confessional.
