Well, that actually lasted longer than expected!
Yes, Kate Beckinsale and Pete Davidson are calling it quits on their friendly and extremely random romance after nearly four months.
The relationship between the Saturday Night Live star and Widow actress "ran its course" a source tells E! News.
"Pete and Kate have pumped the brakes on their relationship."
"They are still spending time together but it’s less serious — more friendly of a vibe and less romantic," revealed the insider.
Fans of the pair began to suspect that things were fizzling out between the two after weeks passed without any sightings of the A-list couple.
During their brief romance they were spotted together on numerous occasions — whether it was a post-award show rendezvous or they were packing on the PDA at a hockey game — the Brit and New York native always smiled big for the cameras.
While the romantic side of their relationship seems to be over, that doesn’t mean the celebs are cutting each other out completely.
"They still talk and are very friendly," the source adds.
Even though they may no longer be making heart eyes at each other, they still clearly enjoy the other’s company.
"When they are apart they talk a lot and never run out of things to say. He always has her laughing and that’s a good feeling to have," shared the source.
Their relationship gained a lot of attention, which somehow came as a surprise to both Kate and Pete.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Time, the actress says she is "surprised by the interest" in her romance with Davidson.
"I’ve never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief," she noted.
But come on, she had to have known what she was getting herself into.
Between Pete’s super-publicized breakup with Ariana Grande, the frequent talk about the size of his manhood, and his suicide scare — it’s pretty obvious that he has been a magnet to media outlets throughout the year.
Beckinsale meanwhile was busy being a mother to her 20-year-old daughter Lily whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Michael Sheen and when it came to her new beau Pete — well, she felt all the attention was a "bit tired."
But it looks like Kate no longer has to worry about being in the spotlight now that she and Pete are no longer shocking the world with their (yikes) 20-year age gap.
And as for Davidson — well, the comedian is set to star in a semi-autobiographical film directed by Judd Apatow, which begins filming this summer.
So he has no time to weep. He’s got a movie to shoot!
