As much as most Teen Mom fans have enjoyed the first photos of Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell's new baby, some have to ruin the fun.
There are people convinced that little Vaeda isn't Tyler's baby, and they're making themselves known in comments.
Tyler is putting is foot down and clapping back hard against the haters, trolls, and conspiracy theorists who are attacking his family.
"Vaeda is a month old this week & idk how it’s possible, but she keeps getting cuter!" Tyler gushed in a recent Instagram post.
Catelynn joked back at him, writing "Sorry babe I totally cheated and Vaeda's not yours."
She was definitely joking, but poking fun at fan rumors that some of their followers had been writing in comments and elsewhere.
And then there were those who said mean things about a literal baby's appearance -- can you imagine?
Clearly, some of the people who couldn't just enjoy a simple baby photo struck a nerve.
Because Tyler took to Instagram to hit back.
"Wow," he writes. "I’m actually just appalled at the ridiculously asinine comments about my newborn."
Tyler didn't validate his trolls by devoting a post to this.
Instead, he came into the comments swinging to hit them where they live, so to speak.
"We live in a world that is so divided, judgmental, self righteous, & opinionated," Tyler observes.
"And unfortunately," he laments. "It’s very evident with these comments."
Also in almost all comments sections that are not heavily moderated.
"Respectful MATURITY," Tyler explains. "Is having a strong opinion & voicing it when necessary."
In contrast, he writes: "Disrespectful IMMATURITY is having a strong opinion & voicing it when it is NOT NECESSARY."
"Your deity knows all of your thoughts," Tyler says, which makes a tremendous change to the tone of the article.
"But," he adds: "Evil can only hear what comes out of your mouth."
We're not going to do a deep dive into a Teen Mom star's theological beliefs, but that is a hell of a statement. And it's almost inclusive.
"Live with love & speak with peace,” Tyler counsels his fans and followers.
He then warns: “or karma is not going to be your ally."
"I can guarantee that!" Tyler proclaims.
Tyler concludes by asking: "Where is all the love, people?"
That is a very fair question.
Tyler makes some decent points, here.
At times, looking in comments sections across the internet and especially on social media, you see mostly the worst of humanity.
People are more motivated to comment when they feel strong negative feelings.
On social media, when interacting with reality stars, some people who feel powerless in their everyday lives write nasty, vile things to get a response.
If they can ruin a famous stranger's day for even a moment, it makes them feel powerful and in control for a short time.
But whatever you may think of Tyler and Catelynn, they don't deserve to be someone's verbal punching bag.
They have a new, precious addition to their family.
Vaeda and Novalee may not be conventional names.
And sure, a lot of people have questions about how solid or otherwise Tyler and Catelynn's relationship was.
But while you're free to have any opinion in the world about Vaeda or how she came into the world, don't make it Tyler or Catelynn's business.
Don't write mean things in their Instagram comments. Just act like a grownup.
