Miley Cyrus is still not over the death of Janice Freeman.

A former beloved contestant on The Voice, Freeman died over the weekend due to complications from a blood clot.

The singer advanced all the way to the final 11 on this NBC competition in 2017, garnering a major following as a member of Team Miley Cyrus.

But Freeman and Cyrus were more than just partners on a reality show; they developed a legitimate friendship.

According to Freeman, Cyrus took care of her family’s security deposit for a temporary two-bedroom apartment to live in early last year, along with the first six months of rent.

Freeman acknowledged the generous gesture in an Instagram video at the time, saying through tears:

"Miley, you are my dawg, like, my best friend, and I will defend you to the bitter end.

"This woman blessed me to be able to move in. Do you understand? What she don’t know is, I’ve been praying for her."

Added Freeman about 14 months ago:

"I’m so overwhelmed.

"I need y’all to understand that it is time to go into 2018 believing God for real … Y’all don’t understand that you see these people on TV.

"You see things happening and all of that. But you don’t understand that these people are real. And her heart is so huge. And she allows God to use her to bless my life."

In response to Freeman passing away, Cyrus shared the following photo of a rainbow on social media yesterday and wrote as a caption:

"Thank you @janicefreeman.. for everything. This represents you perfectly.”

Very simple and very sweet.

But it wasn’t enough for Miley.

Along with a photo of herself performing on stage alongside Freeman, Cyrus penned an emotional note to Janice on Instagram this morning

"I miss you so much it hurts. Everywhere ….. but so did you. So often," the star wrote, adding:

"So much pain and no one would ever notice because of the smile and joy you constantly radiated . I am trying my best today to celebrate your existence but I can’t help but just deeply mourn over your absence.

"All those texts I would receive , just of you telling me that your praying for ME. How you were so selfless I’ll never understand . The way you found the good in everything.

"You are now a rainbow. Something beautiful that comes after something so gloomy."

Freeman battled cervical cancer and meningitis prior to her death.

She was rushed to the hospital by her husband on Saturday after having shortness of breath, eventually succumbing to "an extreme case of pneumonia," according to her rep.

"You were the only artist EVER, that I tried so hard to “ sign” , was going to create a label just so YOU could be on it," continued Cyrus.

"No one has heard them and I hope to share at an appropriate time, but the records you were creating with @brandicarlile (where it all began , the story ) and my dear writer friend @ilsey were so magically beautiful JUST LIKE YOU.

"Today we lost a legend."

Overcome with emotion and clearly still processing Freeman’s death, Cyrus concluded:

Everyone got it so wrong on our season together of The Voice because no matter what has been recorded or remembered YOU won my angel .

You are not only the best singer that show has ever had the honor of having on that stage but the best fucking singer in the world. What makes me sick is we always wait till the best are gone to recognize them and truly tell them what their art meant to us.

The hope their voice gave us …. the emotions they pulled from us. Janice you’re my star! I will never give up on you. Ever .

I am no longer your coach , I never was ….. YOU constantly taught me. You’ve been my coach on how to love , on how to persevere , on how to fight for what I want and never let even my own body get in the way.

Anything is possible if it’s being done with faith. You are my world . I will never forget you or stop loving you. I am forever yours , Miley.
