For Christina Anstead, life is both blessed and brutal at at the moment.
These are the sentiments the HGTV star expressed in a new Instagram photo/post that featured our first look at her latest baby bump.
“Now that I can talk about [it], the first trimester was brutal!” Christina told her one million followers yesterday, adding in more detail about her expecting state:
“Maybe it’s my age (35- considered a geriatric pregnancy) lol… or maybe I just forgot how bad it was with Tay and Bray. But yikes it really blind sided me.
"Nausea, exhaustion, too many food aversions, too many carbs…. anyways I’m officially back to feeling somewhat normal. Going to try and enjoy the second trimester while it’s here.”
Anstead and her husband Ant confirmed a few days ago that the former was pregnant with the couple's first child.
Together, that is.
Prior to hooking up, Christina had two kids with famous ex-husband Tarek (a three-year old named Brayden and an eight-year old named Taylor), while Ant had a pair with his ex-wife (a 12-year old named Archie and a 15-year old named Ameliethis).
"@ant_anstead and I are so excited to announce #babyanstead coming this September!! The kids are all so excited to meet their new sibling," wrote Christina as a caption to the sonogram photo above.
Ant, meanwhile, shared a portrait of the twosome's shared four kids, along with this same sonogram, and wrote:
"And then...... there were FIVE!!! (Well .... four and a half! Will be Five in September)!!"
The couple got married in December, about a year after they started dating and two years after Christina separated from Tarek.
(The reality stars continue to host Flip or Flp together on HGTV and continue to handle their split in a very mature fashion.)
Elsewhere in this same recent caption, Christina showered her second husband with praise.
“Thank you to my amazing husband for being so supportive while his new bride was complaining and a little more cray than usual," she joked, adding:
"We found out we were expecting after the honeymoon and I’m officially 15 weeks now."
This is such exciting news for the newlyweds, especially considering what Christina went through in the past.
Going back a few years, Christina told People Magazine in 2015 that she struggled to get pregnant the first time.
After going through two attempts at in vitro fertilization - one of which resulted in a tragic miscarriage - Christina at last got pregnant via a third IVF treatment in 2014,
“I had to be really strict,” she told this publication at that time. "At around six weeks pregnant I started spotting, so I thought that we lost the baby again.”
Thankfully, despite the scare, she later gave birth to Brayden via emergency cesarean section.
We wish her the best of luck and the best of health with pregnancy number-three.
