Former Southern Charm villain Ashley Jacobs claims that Kathryn Dennis is lying about being sober.
Clearly, news travels quickly.
In a now-deleted post, Thomas took to the internet to publicly chastize Ashley for speaking out of turn about his other ex.
Thomas and Kathryn may be facing off in court, but on Instagram, he's standing up for his baby mama.
"Ashley Jacobs has been bad mouthing the mother of my children," Thomas Ravenel said in the now-deleted post.
Thomas continued: "I totally disavow this horrendous behavior."
"And," he promised, he "will have nothing to do with her."
Honestly, fans of Ashley and any remaining fans of Thomas will be relieved by that assurance.
That wasn't all.
Before he deleted his post, he was apparently in the mood to elaborate in the comments.
Thomas claims that he "begged her over and over to no avail."
An interesting statement from the man whose own co-stars noted that he seemed to deliberately bait Ashley into resenting Kathryn.
"So hateful," Thomas lamented about his recent ex. "Hope she gets help."
Honestly, even if we disagree with Ashley, we're not sure that her recent comments warrant a get help.
As we recently reported, Ashley Jacobs has gone on social media to claim that Kathryn Dennis is faking her sobriety.
She says that Kathryn is just good at hiding her drinking from social media.
(We would point out that sobriety can simply refer to no longer using certain controlled substances for which Kathryn has tested positive in the past)
In practically the same breath, Ashley claimed that she didn't have a beef with Kathryn.
She just felt that it was hypocritical for Kathryn to be allegedly dishonest with fans and viewers.
Ashley also announced that Kathryn's rehab had been a publicity stunt paid for by Bravo, and that she had never gotten sober.
Thomas' ardent and possibly ill-advised defense of his baby mama comes as a bit of a surprise.
In court, Thomas and Kathryn aren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye these days.
Right now, they are waging a custody battle. Late last month, Kathryn filed to modify their custody and visitation.
Thomas is suing Kathryn and the production company of Southern Charm, claiming that Kathryn has been pushed to make this move to improve ratings.
It's sort of odd to hear the man who claims that his ex is exploiting their kids for a reality TV storyline then rise to her defense.
Thomas is said to be a man whose moods can shift very sharply.
That sounds like as good of an explanation as any.
Of course, we would be remiss if we did not mention that Thomas will stand trial for sexual assault.
The story from one of the women who came forward this year to accuse him of sexual battery was enough for police to make an arrest.
It seems likely that Kathryn has chosen to try to amend their custody arrangement now because of this.
Though she has publicly avoided commenting on the accusations against him, it looks like she wants more time with their young children.
Kensie and Saint are preschool-aged, and no one -- including their parents -- wants them exposed to their father's current legal troubles.
Perhaps Kathryn is being an opportunist by seeking a larger share of custody now.
Or maybe she just doesn't want her very young children to have a front-row seat to their disgraced father's downfall.
