It’s been three months since the world learned that Ben Affleck is dating Lindsay Shookus.
The news came more than two years after Ben’s separation from Jennifer Garner, and based on photos of the former couple, it seems that they’ve remained on good terms despite Affleck’s new romance.
But appearances can be deceiving (especially when celebs know they’re getting papped).
As such, insiders are now claiming that Jen has issued a strict set of rules regarding Ben’s new relationship.
According to Radar Online, Garner recently revealed to Affleck that she’d like to maintain a "no-fly zone" around the kids.
In other words, Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Samuel, 5, will be off limits to anyone new that either one of them is dating.
It’s basically Jen’s roundabout way of saying she doesn’t want Lindsay around her kids.
“The children still don’t know Lindsay and they’ve never met,” a source tells Radar, adding:
“Jen intends to keep it that way.”
It sounds as though Jen would like to keep Shookus as far away from her family as possible, at least for the time being.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that the actress and mother of three has never crossed paths with Lindsay herself:
“Ben met Lindsay at an SNL party … and Jen was there,” revealed another source, adding that it’s as awkward as it sounds.
“She feels completely betrayed.”
The reasons for Jen’s strict anti-Shookus policy are unclear, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wildly speculating:
Currently, the leading theory is that Jen doesn’t like that Ben has been spotted drinking with Lindsay despite the fact that he just completed rehab for alcoholism back in March.
That would certainly make sense.
Garner has reportedly issued ultimatums about Affleck’s drinking several times both during their marriage and after their spilt.
Unfortunately, it seems Jennifer’s strict Lindsay ban is resulting in Ben spending less time with his kids than he otherwise might.
“Ben didn’t take the kids on vacation this summer,” the insider tells Radar, noting that the indirect result was what you’d expect.
“Instead, he stayed with Lindsay."
In turn, Garner "took them on a road trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and then they spent a few days in Montana.”
The source also points out that earlier this month, Jennifer traveled with the kids to Texas for a Garner family reunion.
Ben and Lindsay, for their part, hung out in New York.
You can’t really pin that one on Lindsay, though. Something tells us Ben might not be welcome at Jen’s get-together.
