After a week that saw the first perfect score and a lot of scores that were … not so perfect, two pair of celebs have left Dancing with the Stars.

Who was shown the exit and who lived to dance another day?

The 11 remaining couples put on quite a performance on Cirque du Soleil night the evening before, leaving fans with a lot to think about.

As always, the judges’ scores were combined with votes from fans to determine which couple would be leaving the hit show this week.

In this case, not one but two couples would be leaving.

You never know how these things are going to play out; Dancing With the Stars results shockers are so common, they’re not real shockers.

Fans are going to vote how they’re going to vote, and the only thing you can predict each week is utter unpredictability. That being said …

To recap, the scores heading into the results show …

Laurie Hernandez: 30

James Hinchcliffe: 28

Terra Jole: 25

Maureen McCormick: 24

Amber Rose: 24

Calvin Johnson: 23

Jana Kramer: 23

Vanilla Ice: 23

Ryan Lochte: 22

Marilu Henner: 21

Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds: 18

Basically, no way Laurie or James would be heading home unless people full-on forgot en masse to vote for the frontrunners this week.

The first three couples named safe this week were a bit of a surprise, however: Marilu and Derek, Calvin and Lindsay, Amber and Maks.

That’s right, nothing for Laurie or James.

The first couple eliminated was not a surprise: Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and his pro partner, Allison Holker, were shown the door.

Next up were a round of safe couples: Laurie and Val, Marilu and Derek, Calvin and Lindsay, Amber and Maks, and Ryan and Cheryl.

So far, so good for some … not as much for others. Also safe: James and Sharna, Maureen and Artem, Terra and Sasha, Jana and Gleb.

That least your second couple eliminated on Tuesday night was – despite a marked improvement of late – Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson.

Tough break? Undoubtedly.

That’s the way it goes, however; Laurie may have scored high enough not to worry about fans’ votes, but most don’t have that luxury.

Despite Ryan Lochte saying Dancing with the Stars is rigged (Amber Rose has also alleged this), it’s not rigged against them, clearly.

Although it was sad to see the guys go, it was hard to stay sad when Sasha Farber proposed to a very excited Emma Slater on stage.

Spoiler alert: She said yes!
