It’s only been six weeks since the world first learned that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are getting divorced, but it looks like they’re already taking a page from Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s book and keeping things friendly for the kids’ sake.
It’s an admirable goal, but an afternoon out so soon after making the split official makes us think that Ben and Jen might trying too hard to maintain the appearance of civility.
People magazine reports that Ben and Jen are "still talking every day," and their fun Saturday with the kids was planned several days in advance.
The family went to see Inside Out (kind of an emotional flick for kids whose parents are going through a divorce, but whatevs), got ice cream and did some shopping.
Then Jen went to hotel while Ben took the kids back to the rental mansion he’s staying in, because what’s the point of feigning togetherness if there’s no one around to take pictures of it?
As for Ben’s relationship with Christine Ouzounian, sources claim it’s still going on, and it could create some serious problems for the Batfleck.
Insiders say Christine has turned down lucrative interview offers from Dr. Phil and Entertainment Tonight because she’s still in love with Affleck and hoping things will work out.
They also say the relationship between Ben and the nanny could screw things up for him in a custody battle, but based on these pics we’re guessing Affleck and Garner are hoping to keep things as friendly as possible.
