Following the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown on Sunday, Nick Gordon’s mother has spoken out on his behalf, lamenting his pain and suffering.
Michele Gordon says her son has “suffered greatly” after his longtime love was hospitalized on January 31, and subsequently went to rehab.
“The passing of Bobbi Kristina is devastating to Nick and our family,” Michele said in a statement. “Nick loved and cared for Krissi so deeply.”
“He has suffered greatly each and every day they’ve been apart. Nick and our family are in mourning, and we ask that you respect our privacy.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Houstons and the Browns.”
Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston’s only child was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub of her suburban Atlanta home.
New reports disturbingly say that the 22-year-old often fell asleep in bathtubs, a fact that could be critical in clearing Gordon of wrongdoing.
The case surrounding Bobbi Kristina’s hospitalization remains an open one, and it is widely assumed that Nick will be investigated for homicide.
He has not been charged with a crime, however, and may never be.
Nick reportedly told a relative that Bobbi Kristina had been drinking and doing drugs before that fateful incident, and that he was not involved.
His conduct has been shady, but that doesn’t mean he’s not right.
The conservator for Bobbi Kristina’s estate, Bedelia Hargrove, has already filed a big lawsuit against him for abusing and stealing from Krissie.
“No human being, male or female, should endure what Bobbi Kristina endured,” Hargrove said in a statement at the time the lawsuit was filed.
“[Co-guardians] Pat Houston and Bobby Brown have done all they can to take care of Bobbi Kristina since this terrible tragedy occurred.”
