This Sunday, a wildly popular and critically acclaimed season of Game of Thrones will give way to the sure-to-be-less-popular and already-less-critically-acclaimed second season of True Detective.
Season one captured viewers' imaginations with a Southern Gothic murder mystery, a pair of mesmerizing performances from Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, and a whole lot of red herrings about the Yellow King.
Then, unfortunately, the show delivered a somewhat disappointing finale that's no doubt fresh in the minds of many viewers as season 2 approaches.
Yet again, the anthology series isn't lacking in star power with Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch stepping into the lead roles.
That's a lot of good-looking people who didn't star in Old School (sorry, Vince) for one set, so we suppose it was only a matter of time before the rumors of behind-the-scenes romance began to circulate.
The new issue of Life & Style claims that Farrell and Kitsch began fighting over McAdams on day one of filming, and the actors still haven't let up.
"They were fighting over her all the time," says one insider. "One would invite her out to dinner and the other would get jealous, and vice versa. It was like they were in high school!"
The insider adds that even though filming has wrapped on the second season of True Detective, "they still have a huge crush on her."
It's looking like Kitsch may have emerged triumphant, as he and McAdams have reportedly been spending a lot of time together lately.
It was previously rumored that McAdams was dating Jake Gyllenhaal, but that romance seems to have fizzled while she was filming TD.
Was the breakup related to all that attention from her costars? We'll probably never know.
What we do know is that based on early reviews, True Detective Season 2's most entertaining drama apparently took place off camera.
At least we'll always have those hilarious True Detective Season 2 casting rumors. Thank you, Internet:
