Ladies and gentlemen…. we have a new box office champion!
Hot off mostly positive Jurassic World reviews, the latest movie in this long-running franchise has surpassed The Avengers to achieve the biggest opening in cinematic history.
The film’s Friday-Sunday haul has been adjusted up to $209 million, enabling it to top the Marvel film’s $207.4 million from 2012.
Along with reaching the biggest opening weekend of all-time at the domestic box office, it also beat the global record with an estimated $511.8 million.
That’s a lot of dough!
Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, both of whom made rather hilarious impressions on potential viewers while promoting the blockbuster.
Howard proved she can cry on command, while Pratt ran around in high heels.
The latter has already confirmed he’s on board for a sequel. Which means we are, too!
