PacSun is yet to apologize to the public for hiring Kendalll Jenner and Kylie Jenner as its new spokespeople.
But the clothing company has issued a mea culpa for a controversial article of apparel it released in honor of Memorial Day.
The t-shirt features an upside-down version of the American Flag.
"I saw this at your location at Tanger Outlets this morning in Foley, Alabama," wrote patron Rachel Zawacki-Kuss wrote on the PacSun Facebook page.
"I understand freedom of speech but this shirt, displayed prominently at the entrance of your store, for Memorial Day weekend is more distasteful and disrespectful than anything I thought I’d see."
The photo was then shared over 6,000 times, with many shoppers echoing this negative sentiment.
In response to the uproar, PacSun has taken the item off its shelves and said in a statement:
"As a retailer grounded in youth culture, PacSun values artistic and creative expression through the brands that we sell in our stores.
"Out of respect for those who have put their lives on the line for our country, we have decided to stop selling the licensed flag t-shirt and are removing it from our stores and website immediately.
"We thank the men and women in uniform for their extraordinary service."
In February of 2014, a mother in Utah made headlines when she bought out an entire supply of PacSun shirts she found offensive because they depicted a woman’s private parts.
