As Tuesday's season preview showed us, and The Bachelorette spoilers predicted months ago, Nick Viall is returning to the show this season.
Viall, who was Andi Dorfman's runner-up on the 2014 season, seems to have gotten over her at last ... by watching The Bachelor this winter.
Safe to say Nick was happy Chris Soules chose Whitney Bischoff ... 'cause he's been crushing on Kaitlyn Bristowe since he first saw her on TV!
Nick's return to the show that made him famous (or infamous) in a bid to win Kaitlyn's heart comes as a shocker, and at the same time not at all.
The Wisconsin native was admittedly a student of the long-running reality franchise, and seemed reluctant to let go of Andi ... or his time on ABC.
He also seemed to already be falling for the 29-year-old Canadian dance instructor, tweeting frequently throughout her stint on The Bachelor.
"Kaitlyn is the total package. She will be just fine," Viall said on Twitter February 23 after Soules cut her loose for good. He added earlier that month:
"I like how Kaitlyn carries herself. I'm pretty [sure] I would never be bored around Kaitlyn," Nick wrote at one point, and even said during another episode:
"Kaitlyn is incredible."
Sounds like the feeling is mutual. We won't give it away, and don't know for sure, but some spoilers have indicated he's in Bristowe's final three.
He claims in the above sneak peek that he is not here to play the villain, but some fans (and fellow contestants) will certainly accuse him of it.
His comeback reeks of desperation, even if he does crush on Kaitlyn. He couldn't let go of Andi last time, to a borderline embarrassing degree.
Maybe he was just so in love, he couldn't help himself ... but now he's all of a sudden so smitten with Bristowe, he just HAD to get back on TV?
In any case, Nick Viall lost out to Josh Murray, then went on to drop TMI bombshells on the After the Final Rose special that left Andi reeling.
Andi and Josh, who broke up earlier this year, have made no mention of Viall's return via Twitter thus far, but we imagine they address it.
Especially if he makes viewers (and competitors cringe), makes it to the Fantasy Suite, and makes love to a second consecutive Bachelorette.
We won't slut-shame Kaitlyn, don't worry.
