After months of rumors and a reported trial separation, it looks as though it's officially over between Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.
Us Weekly is reporting today that reps for the actors have confirmed that they've decided to go their separate ways after three years of dating.
Sources say the split was amicable, but there's still some disagreement as to what went wrong between Stone and Garfield.
It was initially reported that Emma and Andrew had simply grown apart as a result of their hectic work schedules.
Now, insiders are claiming that the blame rests entirely with Garfield, who went ultra-meta for his role in the upcoming Maritn Scorsese film, Silence, and wound up neglecting his relationship.
"He's been in a dark place for months getting into his role," says one source. "He wasn't being the best partner."
Garfield plays a 17th century priest and co-stars with Liam Neeson and Adam Driver in the film, which is currently shooting in Taiwan.
Yeah, we imagine spending a few months dressed in all black and hanging out with Scorsese, Neeson and Adam from Girls would take a toll on anyone's psyche.
Whatever the reason, Stone and Garfield have officially transitioned from "on a break" to "dunz-o." They'll always have The Amazing Spider-Man. The less said about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the better.
