Kelly Clarkson has received an apology from two men who realize they acted like total idiots last week.
During an interview on The Mike Gallagher Show on Friday, the host was chatting with Fox News anchor Chris Wallace when he randomly and rudely remarked on the original American Idol.
"Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? Holy cow, did she blow up," said Gallagher, touching on the topic of "fat shaming."
Wallace hemmed and hawed at first, before eventually dropping his own Clarkson diss:
"She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while," he said.
Clarkson, unfortunately, has been the subject of criticism over her weight for a long time now.
It especially came to the forefront a few weeks ago when some British woman named Katie Hopkins blasted Clarkson for being fat.
The artist has handled such insults in the most mature and reasonable way possible, shrugging them off at one point and labeling herself "awesome," while appearing on Ellen last week and and saying "we are who we are."
She also laughed and just said, hey, sometimes she prefers drinking wine to going kickboxing!
Wallace and Gallagher, meanwhile, issued mea culpas over the weekend.
"I sincerely apologize to Kelly Clarkson for my offensive comment. I admire her remarkable talent and that should have been the focus of any discussion about her," wrote Wallace, while Gallagher added:
Tubby Mike is the last person in the world who should bring up anyone’s weight.
I couldn’t possibly feel any worse than I do for making an observation that led to the conclusion that I 'fat-shamed' this talented and classy entertainer.
It was a really stupid thing for me to do.
