The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 Episode 16 saw Kandi and Todd enter counseling, while some of the ladies might want to consider therapy as well.
After Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks nearly come to blows over Apollo Nida’s accusations, the drama continued again this week in the dirty south.
Meanwhile, NeNe Leakes of all people decided to try to play peacemaker with the group. That's when you know s--t has most definitely hit the proverbial fan.
Did Phaedra cheat on Apollo with a man named Chocolate? It's unclear, but the rumor was the focus of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 7 Episode 16.
Cynthia Bailey maintains that she only shared the Parks news to defend Kenya and Claudia Jordan, two women who are constantly accused of promiscuity.
“You can’t be a whore and call someone else a whore,” Bailey says.
At lunch with Phaedra, Porsha Williams wonders why Phaedra Parks' close friend Kandi Burruss didn’t come rushing to her defense after the epic blowout.
Burruss' husband Todd Tucker, of course, is close with Apollo.
Later, Claudia, Kenya and Cynthia confront Kandi straight up about how much she knew regarding Phaedra and Chocolate. Kandi maintains her innocence:
“I’m not going to sit here and debate what their problems may or may not be with the crew. I didn’t say she was right. I’m not saying anyone is right."
"I’m just saying, I’m tired of this,” Burruss laments.
Staying neutral proved difficult for Kandi, and remaining on an even keel equally challenging for Phaedra after she met up with Cynthia to quash the beef.
“You obviously told your friend Kenya,” Phaedra tells Cynthia of the rumor of her affair. “And you have made it into something that you did not fact-check.”
Cynthia then brings up Kenya’s sexting with Apollo?
“In this group, we don’t fact-check,” Cynthia says.
“We just talk. And that’s just what it is.”
At least she's honest about it.
Kandi and Todd have their own problems that run deeper than celebrity gossip. They visit Dr. Blake, the same therapist that Porsha and Kordell Stewart visited.
It's only been six months of marriage, but Todd cites the drama around their prenup as one of the reasons why they’ve been up against it from the start.
“It was like she had no feelings. It wasn’t like ’let’s talk this out.’ It was more so, ‘if he don’t sign it, whatever. It’ll be an expensive party,’” Todd says.
Tucker won't even respond to cheating allegations, however, which makes his wife wonder. He's really not going to sit silently and not deny he had an affair?
“It’s kind of jacked up that he didn’t answer the question. Whatever’s done in the dark will come to light ... I am going to do whatever it takes to save my marriage."
That might entail firing Mama Joyce as mama, as fans who watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online know has been a constant source of tension as well.
Burruss tells the cameras that she hasn’t told her mom about seeing a therapist with Todd, because Mama Joyce would probably rejoice at the news.
Meanwhile, after lamenting that the group's "friendships are definitely at the worst they’ve ever been,” NeNe tries to set up a group counseling session.
There, she ends up as the main target.
“At the dinner in San Juan, it became a thing with me and you. We had no reason to have a fight," Claudia Jordan tells her, and Cynthia piles it on.
Leakes soon regrets this bright idea.
“I honestly was trying to do something good from the heart,” NeNe says in a confessional. “But my name is NeNe! Lord forbid that I come up with an idea.”
