Over the weekend, Scott Disick was found drunk and barefoot, stumbling through the lobby of an Atlantic City hotel at 8 am.
An experience like that is enough to make a man think twice about his life choices, so it wasn’t too surprising when Disick checked into rehab yesterday.
What is surprising is the method that Scott has chosen for getting sober.
Lord Disick reportedly opted for a facility in Costa Rica so that he could experiment with a treatment program that’s actually illegal in the United States.
TMZ is reporting that Scott will spend the next several weeks at the Rhythmia Life Advancement Center, where he will use a hallucinogenic herb called Iboga to treat his addiction.
Disick reportedly visited the last month facility in order to research the trippy program.
Scott’s Iboga “flights” will be observed by a shaman, and the folks at Rhythmia claim their treatment is so effective that they offer a full money-back guarantee.
However, an addiction specialist who spoke with Radar Online claims their method is controversial for good reason – it’s dangerous and rarely effective.
“Patients can die from it,” says Martin Brenner. “It seems that Scott wants a quick way to recovery. He wants an easier, softer way.”
That may be the case, buy you can’t blame the guy for trying something new. Scott ditched rehab after one day the last time he tried to get sober.
Clearly, the traditional approach is not for him.
